SCRIPTURE READING: MATTHEW 7: 24-27
FOCUS: “And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:” (Matthew 7: 26)
MEMORY VERSE: “According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.” (1 Corinthians 3: 10)
Our Focal Scripture makes mention of that man that built his house upon the sand. Typically, nobody builds a house alone. To build a house, there would probably be labourers, perhaps carpenters, and others. So the man who built on sand probably had several workers who served to build his house, but none seemed to tell him that he was building what would soon crumble. He seemed to hire workers who aided the wasted efforts.
Friend, I pray for you: may you not be surrounded by men who will watch you slip into error without calling you out of error. May you not be surrounded by men who will see you ‘building a house’ that will soon crumble and say nothing about it. May you not be surrounded by men who will see what needs to be done to make things right but will prefer to keep silent and watch you go down; may you not be surrounded by architects of your downfall.
I pray for you: may you not hire people who you will pay and they end up helping your resources and efforts go down the drains; may you not hire employees that will cause your business/enterprise to go down; may you not hire spoilers of destiny; may you not recruit those that will hasten your fall from the heights of relevance and influence; may you not be a victim of people you invited to help you but who helped to reduce you.
Ask God to send you men who will help you to build without helping to reduce you; ask God to send you the right men who will save you from error.
