Our Story & Mandate
We’re proud of how far we’ve come but even more excited about where we’re headed. This is more than our story; it’s a growing community, and we’re glad you’re part of it.
Built on a Vision for the Community
In line with the vision of the Redeemed Christian Church of God to plant more churches and impact communities for Christ, Pastor Belemina Obunge, serving as Special Assistant to the General Overseer, commissioned workers from Rivers State II to pioneer a parish in Canada.
Out of this divine mandate and obedience to the call to expand God’s kingdom, the journey of RCCG Chapel of Praise, Hamilton, Ontario was born. What began as a step of faith has grown into a thriving expression of worship, fellowship, and community impact in Hamilton, within the province of Ontario and the nation of Canada. Today, Chapel of Praise stands as a testimony of God’s faithfulness, driven by purpose, and committed to raising a people of praise who shine the light of Christ in their community and beyond.
OUR VISION
To make a positive impact, transform lives and empower people to fulfill their God-given destinies.
OUR MISSION
To make heaven, and by God's grace, take as many people as we can with us.
OUR MANTRA
Holiness as a way of life. Excellence in all we do. Love to a dying world. Purposeful living.
OUR BELIEFS
WE BELIEVE the Holy Scriptures to be the divinely inbreathed, infallible, inerrant and authoritative Word of God.
WE BELIEVE that there is one God, eternally existent in the Persons of the Holy Trinity.
WE BELIEVE in the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, His deity, His sinless humanity and perfect life, the eternal all-sufficiency of His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the Father’s right hand, and His personal coming again at His second advent as the Blessed Hope of the Church.
WE BELIEVE that justification is a judicial act of God on the believer’s behalf solely on the merits of Christ, and that regeneration by the power of the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation. Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ.
WE BELIEVE in holy living, the present day reality of the baptism in the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the Lord’s supernatural healing of the human body.
WE BELIEVE in Christ’s Lordship of the Church, the observance of the ordinances of Christian baptism by immersion for believers and the Lord’s Supper.
WE BELIEVE in the eternal blessedness of the redeemed in heaven and the eternal doom of the unregenerate in the lake of fire.
